This paper,in order to solve low bearing capacity of circular tubular steel X-joints with ribbed which caused by force transmission road branch strength interruption,proposed the ribbed method for stiffening plate of circular tubular steel X-joints with ribbed.And to study the design problem of the stiffened plate of circular tubular steel X-joints with ribbed,based on the parameters,like Angle 0(30°?0?90°)between primary and secondary tube axial line,the ratio ? of the outer diameter of the branch pipe to the round pipe,the ratio a of the wall thickness of the branch pipe to the main pipe,and the stiffening plate length and thickness etc.,utilize the finite element analysis software ANSYS to analyze the ultimate bearing-load capacity of 22 circular tubular steel X-joints and 225 circular tubular steel X-joints with ribbed,and test one circular tubular steel X-joint and one circular tubular steel X-joint with ribbed to verify the accuracy of the results of the finite element analysis.Through the analysis of the results of the study,the following conclusions are obtained.1)Under the axial pressure,the failure modes are different for the circular tubular steel X-joints and the circular tubular steel X-joints with ribbed.Namely,the failure mode of circular tubular steel X-joints comes from the extrusion of main road,while the failure mode of the circular tubular steel X-joints with ribbed mainly caused by local buckling.2)With the change of ?&?,the improvement of the ultimate bearing capacity of the circular tubular steel X-joints with the stiffening plate varies under the axial pressure.3)The ultimate bearing capacities of the circular tubular steel X-joints and the circular tubular steel X-joints with ribbed differ with the values of ? as follows:the greater the value of ?,the greater the ultimate bearing capacity under the axial pressure.4)Under the axial pressure,?? 1.4,0.875???1 is the most reasonable design dimension of the stiffener on circular tubular steel X-joints with ribbed.5)Under the axial pressure,when 30°???60°,the ultimate bearing capacity of X-joints of the stiffened plate makes no difference.In this paper,the circular tubular steel X-joints under the axial pressure and the circular tubular steel X-joints with ribbed are systematically studied.The research results of this paper have a positive effect on the research work of the circular tubular steel X-joints.In this paper,the design recommendations of the circular tubular steel X-joints with ribbed under axial pressure are helpful to the practical engineering design.
