X type vortex-pump has good performance of non-jam, and it is easily made to transport the sewage dejects and liquid suspending fiber and large grain mixed in fluid, the flow mechanism of vortex-pump is not well comprehended, the flow of the pump is very complicated so the design theory of vortex-pump is not perfect, and many designs which are based on the experience in many engineering designs according to the pure water pump design theory ,so that the results of which has no good performance and stability . It is urgent necessary to study the flow field in the vortex-pump, and provide a better base to design the pump with high performance and good stability.Vortex-pump is a kind of vane type centrifugal pump that the impeller was drawn to the pump body and which has a large non-impeller field, the flow in the pump is very complicated. If we use the testing means to display the flow status, the cost is high; the period is long, and also limited by the testing means. To find a new studying means of the flow inside vortex-pump, in this paper, the three-dimensional model of vortex-pump is established with PRO/E and the grids are polted using gambit. N-S Equation is enclosed and solved by riper k-εturbulence model, using finite volume method scatters the equation with pressure-velocity connection algorithm SIMPLEC. FLUENT software was used to simulate the inner flow of the pump in the case of changing impeller breadth and the clearance between the impeller's fringe and Shell whereafter Analysising of these parameters on the impact of vortex-pump performance and better hydraulic model is confirmed. the interior pump flow with small particles was numerically simulated using FLUENT software by means of varying particle size and concentration in the working medium. The distribution of velocity , pressure , particle concentration and the other important information was obtained. inside flow rule of vortex-pump's is summarized which can guide the way of vrtex-pump design.The main research of the vortex-pump as following:1. In the case of changing the impeller from former straight blade to curved blade The function of vortex-pump has got rise.2. In the situation of pure water blade width is the broader the vortex-pump head is bigger but efficiency trend coming down after rising first and then optimization width is fixed on 48 millimeter. 3. In the situation of pure water enlarging clearance between the impeller's fringe and Shell the pump head and efficiency trend coming down after rising first and then optimization clearance is fixed on 17 millimeter.4. The influencey of vortex-pump's pressure and velocity field through of varying particle size and concentration in the working medium is analysed.
