The tube plate of pot shell type boiler, which connected with the pot thimble body and the flue tube, is the main bearing parts. The structure and stress condition of the tube plate is the most complex in bearing parts of pot shell type boiler. In the course of the use, the tube plate frequently comes forth distortion and cracks. At present, the design of the tube plate has been caught out by dint of adding some experience's correction coefficient to the board shell film theory the formula, which has the approximate character and the experience character. Therefore, the paper has researched the size and distribution of the stress in view of the same specification and the stress condition structure, which educes the conclusion that the size and location of the maximum stress is obviously different under the same conditions about three kinds of tube plate.The paper has analyzed and compared the advantages and disadvantages of the pot shell type boiler from the common type of the industrial boiler. At the same time, the paper has analyzed the pot shell type boiler and its tube plate from the stress type, manufacturing and technology materials selection, and so on.According to the traditional design measure of the tube plate, the paper has counted the stress of the flat tube plate, the ellipsoidal tube plate, the arch tube plate of the same specification and stress condition with taking into account examples of projects. Then, the stress results has been analyzed and compared.The finite element model has been built with the finite element software, which aims at the same examples of three tube plates. The static of three models are analyzed and calculated through setting the boundary conditions and imposing load to the actual conditions. The paper has researched the stress distribution, the maximal stress and the position of the maximal stress on the three tube plates. Meanwhile, the strengthening structure of the flat tube plate has been counted and analyzed with finite element analysis, and the change of stress distribution has been compared.When the maximal stress of the arch tube plate exceeded a little the permissive stress, it has been disassembled and classified. The result shows that the stress intensity evaluation is eligible according to the method of analysis and design.The paper has adopted the method of the stress analysis to design and count the pot shell boiler tube. The method of the stress analysis will make choosing the material of the tube plate more scientific, and make the stress distributing, the stress conditions, and the thickness of the tube plate more reasonable, at the same time, save some materials and improve the economic efficiency of manufacturing boilers enterprises.The paper has classified the pot shell boiler tube with the flue tube and the pot thimble body as a whole and carried on the stress analysis and the intensity evaluation adopted the finite element method to the whole for the first time, which will provide a certain reference value on further stress analyzing and designing of bearing parts of pot shell type boiler.
