In recent years, with the increase of the traffic and grade of load, the ruining of bridge deck pavement is getting steadily worse, which influences the traffic and needs large number of manpower, material resources to mend and strengthen, and causes a great deal of direct and indirect financial loss. The failure of deck pavement is becoming a cause for extensive concern. The paper summarizes general situation of researches and employment of concrete bridge deck pavement home and abroad, and analyzes types of failure and concludes the ways of mending mainly directed at concrete bridge deck pavement of concrete bridges. Based on these, aimed at the deck pavement system of simple beams, the more comprehensive mechanical analysis were carried out about deck pavement under the vertical load, horizontal load and temperature load by ANSYS, taking different combining situations between bridge slab and deck pavement into account in modeling. Thus, we are acquainted with the bearing performance of concrete bridge deck pavement more clearly, the importance of the good connection between deck pavement and slab and the imperfect mechanical performance of the materials which are applied to the bridge deck pavement. One important reason that causes the damage of the deck pavement is that there is a weak layer between the deck pavement and the concrete bridge slab. The damages which occurred in the weak layer mainly are cutting-slipping damage and unhinging damage. Therefore, in order to improve the performance of the weak layer and explore improvements of interfacial agents on bonding strength of new and old concrete interface, a great deal of tests on bonding shear-resistance and flexure-resistance were carried out. Finally, the efficient interfacial agent was confirmed, which improves the interfacial bonding strength extremely, and guarantees good combining between deck pavement and slabs. The other important reason is that mechanical performances of the concrete deck pavement material are insufficient, such as tensile strength and fatigue strength. According to the fractural mechanics and relevant research achievements, it is known that the relevant performances of concrete are improved after intermingling fiber, and the performance that adding flexible fiber to concrete is better than that of adding rigid fiber. So, the paper also explored physical and mechanical performances of flexible fiber reinforced concrete through lots of experimental researches, and put forward fiber shape and efficient usage. All show that as bridge deck pavement material, flexible fiber reinforced concrete is excellent at physical and mechanical performance, such as tensile strength, shrinkage, and fatigue strength, which will enhance working performance and life-span of deck pavement.Flexible fiber reinforced concrete has been applied to an experimental project as bridge deck pavement material referring to the calculations and experimental researches in this paper.
