It is generally acknowledged that solar energy is one of the most promising new energy resources. There're three main methods to utilize the solar energy, which are photo electricity conversion, photo chemistry conversion and photo heat conversion. Among these, photovoltaic power generation is the most important power generation technique.This thesis deals with an investigation on a digital solar array test system based on the mathematical modules of solar cells made from silicon and uses newly developed software and the corresponding power electronics technology, integrating simulation, computer and power electronics technology, and which is a new type test system.To further prove practicability and accuracy of the I-V mathematical model used in engineer field, the thesis simulates the mathematical model by MATLAB/Simulink, and initially shows the feasibility of the mathematical model with simulation graphic.The solar array tester designed based on DSP (TMS320F2806). This thesis introduced in detail about Hardware that contains main circuit, the circuit of sampling, IGBT driver, DSP controller and showed the structure and the flow of Software.The experimental results indicated that the design of the test system were successful. It can be used for testing and evaluating the behaviors of solar cell arrays and the I-V, P-V curves under different irradiation and surrounding temperature. It can indicate researchers how to improve and in which direction to adjust the system.
