In recent years, with the accelerated development of urbanization process, waterlogging has taken place in various degree in a great deal of cities and caused the enormous economic losses to people. The cause of the phenomenon is various , except that the diseased draining equipment and behindhand management system and metabolic climate, it is a main rease adopting the definite value design method in existing optimal design method of rainwater pipe networks. So, it is essential import reliability theory to the optimal design of rainwater pipe networks.Considering reliability and optimal design of rainwater pipe networks,the thesis try to found the optimal design model of urban rainwater pipe networks based on reliability. At first, the thesis analysed general design method of rainwater pipe networks,thus establishing the theoretics base of optimal design. Afterwards, the thesis analysed uncertain factors in design of rainwater pipe networks and studied calculating methods of reliability of rainwater pipe networks from two aspects,thus educed it is feasible looking the relation of parameter as restrict condition in optimal design of rainwater pipe networks, on the base of certain reliability index. In conclusion, the thesis travelled through rainwater pipe network,using the theory of adjacency matrix in graph theory and carries through optimal design of rainwater pipe networks using direct optimize method.The computer program for the thesis is based on Matlab. Appling the model founded in the thesis to a actual example, contrasting the calculating result of general design method of rainwater pipe network and of the optimal design model of rainwater pipe network, be based on reliability theory,ultimately,the thesis validate the theory and applied value of the model.
