Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is a very important equipment for security in vehicles. The main points of this system is to prevent locking of tires when braking of great urgency, for this, it can improve the performance of braking stabilization, and make it more controllable.Based on the introduction of developing history, the structure and the principles of braking system, I have pay more attention on the application of sliding mode control maneuver for this system. An ABS CO-simulation model for Towing vehicle is presented in this paper. ADAMS/CAR is used to build ABS mechanical dynamic model and MATLAB/Simulation is used to build the sliding mode control maneuver for Anti-lock Braking System. Then perform a combined simulation for Towing vehicle. From the results , We can see that the system can work well to keep slip ratio near the optimal slip ratio, and the braking torque and the wheel speed can changes smoothly, also can shorten the braking displacement. So the result can satisfy the requirement of stability for the vehicle braking process.
