The rotary and reciprocating modes were integrated in the Multifunctional Environment Controllable Tribometer (MECT). The modularized design makes the tribometer more functional. Environment controllable module could adjust the temperature and humidity during the experiment, the tribometer is of much value to the further study of the tribology.The developed Measurement and Control (MAC) system of the MECT in this thesis is a advanced MAC system, which can realize the automatic and intelligent control of the experiment by using the Computer, Automation and real-time MAC technology.In the thesis, the mathematic models of velocity and friction coefficient including rotation and reciprocation, are built based on the analysis of the structure and function of the tribometer. Considering the characteristic of reciprocating friction, the effective value is used to evaluate the periodic signal. The high frequency and impulse interference are filtered by using the Low Pass Filter(LPF) to distinguish the original signal. The system also uses the digital filter of singularity-eliminating using the Five-spot triple smoothing method . The combination of the software and hardware filter can eliminate the interference signal effectively, increase the precision of the output signal of friction. During the period judgment of the reciprocating friction signal , the system uses the Zero-crossings method, acquires the signal period under high and low frequency, makes the reciprocating friction match the theoretical effective value during 0.3 to 20 Hz and reaches perfect performance.The functions of measuring, analyzing, saving and displaying of multiple parameters under reciprocating and rotary modes are realized with the supports of the corresponding interface circuits , the hardware and developed software programmed by Visual C++ 6.0 and Visual Basic 6.0. The software has friendly interfaces, furthermore, the stabilization and reliability of the system can be ensured by using multithread in Visual C++. The contrastive and repeatable experiments showed that the tribometer and it's MAC system can run steadily, the acquired results were accurate and effective.
