Eccentrically braced steel frame(EBSF) used in high-rise buildings is a new structural system which has developed in recent years. In comparison with other framing systems, eccentrically braced steel frame which have some merit, that is high stiffness under medium and small earthquake action and excellent ductility and energy dissipation under the rare earthquake action,is a lateral load-resisting system applied to building in the high intensity area.By research, the earthquake-resistant performance of eccentrically braced steel frame depended on link beam,so the parameter of link beam is high researched in this article.Firstly, this paper presents the theory of EBSF and relevant developing situation inside and outside China, and the establishment of China's criterion was told.Secondly,in the presence of ANSYS10.0 finite element analytical soft ware, the nonlinear finite element model is stimulated by the combination of the beam element and shell element,elasto-plastic time history analysis is performed to a 16-story K,single diagonal eccentrically braced steel frame. In this paper, the influence of different parameters such as the length of link beam and height-to-thickness ratio of web, as well as the distance of the links stiffness on the seismic behavior of K,single diagonal eccentrically braced steel frame under the rare earthquake action is investigated. Finally, some suggestions are acquired for the structural seismic design.
