Boiler explosion of a major fault in the operation of the boiler, especially overheating of the boiler high-temperature heating surface is always an important parameter about life of the utility, affects the safe and stable operation of the generation equipment. It is very significant to find and prevent the overheating of the super-heater in the operation of the utility boiler. The paper uses rough set theory of data mining methods to the research object—platen super-heater, using operating data of a power plant ,discovered the overheating relevant rules of platen super-heater, as well as proposed improving knowledge about operation, it is proved that this method is feasible. The new method above can be used in the reduction of the related parameters, the fault diagnosis and the instruction in the operation, so it can provide technical support for the high-temperature heating surface's life management, with the value of both academy and utility.
