The main contents of this paper including following two aspects: The first aspect, one new method of blade thickening was studied according to a actual project, and its reliability and accuracy were verified through applied in the actual project; The second aspect, The internal flow field of vertical mixed-flow pump of different throat areas and the same impellers, was simulated based on Navier-stokes of three-dimension reynolds time-averaged and standard turbulent model of k ?ε, through standard method of SIMPLEC and MRF model. The performance curve of each throat area was drew, and the influence law of throat area on the performance of vertical mixed-flow pump was summarized, in order to provide several reliable reference for the improvement of vertical mixed-flow pumps.
