With the development of electric industry, more attention is paid to the stability of power systems. Flexible AC Transmission System based on high power electronic elements is becoming the research focus.Static Synchronous Compensator is one of the research focuses in FACTS, since it has superiority in fast reaction, high precision, and the character to realize multiobject control. Based on the fuzzy logic control theories, the control algorithm is presented in this thesis.The thesis analyzes the application of the instantaneous reactive power theory in STATCOM. Based on the circuit configuration and principle of STATCOM, the steady model and the dynamic model are deduced. The thesis designs control strategies aimed at continuous linear control for voltage maintaining, improving the transient stability and oscillation damping. The multi-objective fuzzy control strategy is proposed combined with fuzzy logic control theory. The system-level model is established in the thesis and the models of reversible system PI control and multi-objective fuzzy control are analyzed. The results of analysis show that multiobject control strategy based on fuzzy theory has better performance, and makes STATCOM exert its control effect sufficiently.
