Safety is an etemal theme for civil aviation flight operation.It is largely dependent on the navigation lights guidance to ensure flight landing,take-off and taxi-out rightly,especially meeting the dangerous weather and during night landing.The reliability and stability of these lights play very import role to flight safety,and the photometry parameter is a key attribute which affects lights to satisfy landing navigation role.In order to guarantee lights' system work normally,it is usual to scout their working status artificially.Nowadays there is no automatic scouting instrument which is made in china equipped in domestic airport.Firstly,current research situation on navigation lights' testing at home and abroad was described and analyzed.Upon the induction of relative ICAO specification in detail,we build up the technical foundation on how to test the photometry parameters.Secondly,a novel scheme to test the illuminant intensity of the lights is proposed.Through analysis of domestic airport testing environment and conditions,the key factors which affect accuracy of light illuminant intensity measurement are given.Then photometry parameters testing hardware subsystem which is composed by combined illumination sensors is implemented.In addition, some key techniques such as designation of illumination sensors,method of distance measuring,real-time data collecting etc.are discussed in detail.Thirdly,to meet the requirement of real-time processing of large scale testing data,some efficient algorithms such as digital image process algorithm based on median filter and isocandela curve fitting algorithm for discontinuous points are deeply discussed.In the mean time,we propose illumination matrix extraction algorithm for the testing data pre-processing.By simulation validation,they can enhance the data processing efficiency.Fourthly,a navigation light DBMS system based on vector graphics interaction is designed and implemented.This system is integrated by some designated techniques such as DBMS,graphics interaction and non-structure document management.In the last,some experiments are introduced.The experimental results show the system testing resolution has reached the ICAO criterion and can satisfy application demands of domestic airport.All in all,the system for measuring navigation lights in real-time is a high speed system which is an organic system of optics,mechanics,electronics and computer science.Some algorithm can supply references to navigation lights' maintenance and testing.
