The fiber-capacitive drop analyzer (PFCDA) is based on a specially designed drop sensor by means of the fiber drop analyzing technology and the capacitive drop analyzing technology, and produces a volume-based fiber drop trace (VFDT), which shows the relation between the light intensity passing through the liquid drop and the instant drop volume. From the fingerprint we can measure the physical and chemical parameters of the tested liquids and to discriminate different liquids qualitatively and quantitatively. FCDA is the ideal"green instrument"because there isn't any chemical reaction in the testing process; FCDA not only has the strong synthesis testing function, but it is easy for on-line measurement and will be very useful in the liquids measuring fields of environment protection, medicine, drink and so on.The project is supported by the NSTB-MOST Joint Research Program (Project Number: 003/101/04, where NSTB refers to the National Science and Technology Bureau of Singapore and MOST refers to the Ministry of Science and Technology of China).This project aims to design a portable fiber-capative drop analyzer (PFCDA) based on the fiber-capacitive drop analyzer (FCDA). The purpose of this paper is to advance the sensor configuration, signal acquisition and processing. We replace old work style based on computer process system with embedded sampling and displaying system. Drop liquid can be sampled,processed and analyze independently by using PFCDA without computer involving, thus portable reform is implemented.The main work includes:1. Embedded controlling system is designed;2. Embedded Linux operating systerm and corresponding driver are builded;3. Embedded liquid drop analysis program is developed;4. Recognition of liquid drop fingerprint based on support vector machine.
