The brushless DC motor (BLDCM) has been broadly applied because of it's eminent performance, it is reliable to control with simple structure and convenience to maintenance which is owned by the AC machines, and have high efficiency, good performance of speed regulation as DC machines. So it is widely used in the industry. The traditional theoretical analysis and designing method have been developed maturely It can be said that the wider applications of BLDCM depend somewhat upon the further research on its special control method.Sliding mode variable structure control is characterized with disturbance depression, and insensitivity to parameter alterations. It has been used in motor speed control, position control. The sliding mode observer can evaluate the state of uncertain object and real-time quantities of the object's disturbance and gotten the good performance of brushless DC motor's control. In the paper, the sliding mode observer is designed based on the characters of the model of the motor and the variable structure control. The designing method and pole location of the observer are demonstrated. Based on the model of motor the variable structure controller is designed which is insensitive to the disturbance Because of superiority performance and abundant external devices of the TMS320LF2407 control chip, we use this kind chip to design and achieve the hardware and software system, and control the BLDCM by the control system.This paper use Matlab to build the emulation mathematic model of BLDCM and construct the BLDCM regulation system. According to the control theory of sliding mode observer, the stator magnetic field should be vertical with the rotor magnetic field and be synchronous with rotor rotating, so the positionθand speedωof BLDCM is real-time estimated and the estimated position is modified continuously.
