Polyurethane has many properties,such as frothing quickly, stronger viscidity and better elasticity. Having been frothed and vulcanized, polyurethane with other hard granules can form a new kind of backfill materials which have the higher initial strength. Based on the properties of polyurethane above, in this paper some researches about the rapidly repair technics of airfield pavement are introduced. There are two main points in this paper. One point is that the polyurethane concrete which can be used as surface of pavement can be made from gravels and some certain polyurethane. The other is that the stable backfill substance which can be used as base of pavement can be formed by frothing of polyurethane in the pore space of gravels.Based on properties of polyurethane composite materials, experments about the surface course and the base course of pavement have been done. In the surface course experiment, optimum design is done with different combinations, physical and mechanical properties are tested based on optimum schemes. In the base course experiment, the backfill materials are simulated, different polyurethane materials are tested, optimum foam ratio and component ratio are obtained. Furthermore, the finite element analysis about dynamic response is done with ANSYS, the results can be used as references of design and construction.The results in this paper indicate that the mechanical properties of surface and base made up of polyurethane composite materials can satisfy certain standards and specifications by the vulcanized process for 3 hours.
