Wave-maker is one of the most important equipment for wave simulation in laboratory. At present, wave simulation has been widely applied in researches of coastal and ocean engineering related to sea waves. Based on a method of mixed-language programming of VC++ and Fortran, a wave-making control system has been developed in a 90m long, 2m wide and 2m high wave flume equipped with a wave-maker drived by a AC servo motor. The wave-maker can be used to generate regular waves of different periods and heights, include Airy wave, Stokes wave, Solitary wave and Cnoidal wave; several spectrum of irregular wave, such as JONSWAP spectrum, B-M spectrum, P-M spectrum; wave groups etc.Plenty of experiments have been made to establish the transfer function of the control system, and analysis the performance of regular wave produced by the wave-maker. The best range of period is between 1.0s and 3.0s when the depth is 1m. The system also simulates several irregular wave spectra, and results of the simulations are in close agreement with the expected spectrum.
