Along with the ruby laser's appearance in 1960s, laser, especially the pulsed solid laser,is widely used in medical treatment. Presently, the major pump source of the pulsed solid laser is the flash lamp with inert gases. So, the charging power supply, as the most important part of the laser, asks higher requirements for the designers, the additional power supply is substituted by the switching power supply for the disadvantages of themselves. And the most widely used half-bridge switching power supply has flaws in the large input voltage and the high output power. Therefore, we design a charging power supply applying the phase-shifted zero-voltage-switching pulse-width-modulation full-bridge DC-DC converter. The following work has been done in the paper.1. Describe the application of laser in the medical treatment, introduce the development and the application of the switching power supply.2. Present the characteristic and the realization of the soft-switching technology; analysis the principle of the phase-shifted ZVS PWM DC-DC converter. Then develop the topology of the full-bridge circuit, and give out the comparison of them.3. Design the charging power supply's main circuit, and calculate the parameters of the parts of the apparatus in it. Apply the UCC3895 as the PWM control part to design the control circuit, which works in peak current mode control. Use the HCPL-316J as the core chip to design the driving circuit for IGBT.4. Emulate the whole circuit with PSpise based on the parameters designed above, and then, analyze the status of the charging power supply. Test and analyze the control circuit and the driving circuit for the next steps.
