In the construction,the national policy of "Protecting land source and farm" must be executed and the urgent requirement of energy saving have to be met as well. With the advantages of both energy saving and land source protecting are to be adopted widely soon. The experimental study on the structural and seismic behavior of CS panel structure is presented in the paper.This type of CS panel structure has many excellent properties such as:energy insulating,land saving,environment protecting,easy to be constructed,etc. Walls constructed with this type of CS panel have good energy abilities. In our nation,in formation and studies on the performance of this new type of CS panel structure are scared and the code is also completely blank about this,which delays and limits the utility of it. This paper presents a series of experimental and theoretical studies,some conclusions are drawn and some suggestions are given too,which has practical engineering meanings.In this paper,a three-story model of 1 /2.8 scale of CS panel structure building has been designed and made according to the similarity theory of the model. The experimental research and theory analysis were done when the model of the structure was subjected to repeated and reversed loadings slowly applied on the top. The questions such as damage mechanism, hysteretic behavior,ductility,the ability of energy dissipation have been emphatically studied. Experimental results indicate that CS panel structure building has good seismic behaviors.Based on the experiment results, a comparison between the experiment results and the shear strength and the formula given by the code is made to suggest an appropriate method to determine the shear strength of the CS sandwich panel.Finally,some structural suggestions and designing suggestions are presented based on the experiment study and theoretical analysis in this paper to offer basic references for the use of CS panel structure.
