With the rapid development of our country economy since 1980,residence building has become the most important industry of national economy. In order to save soil, multi-storyes and sub-high rise residence are the dominant structure of houses in our country. For the anti-seismic requirement, hear-wall structures have been used frequently in sub-high rise residence designs. Due to its gravity and rigidity, the traditional shear-wall structures will have great inertia forces when the earthquake occurs. As a result, the execution of shear-wall structures is brittle destroy. For the sake of improving the seismic behavior of shear-wall, a new structure system named hollow shear-wall which has such characteristic as low gravity, rigidity and good ductility are presented in this paper. The paper studies the seismic behavior of R.C hollow shear wall and basic members. Its test specimens are 8 R.C hollow shear wall compression members which have different ratio of length to effective depth of section, 3 bend-shear members and 4 different section shear walls. By low-cycle and reverse horizontal loading test , their properties including strength property, deformation property and energy property are studied. We study the loading characteristic values; the property of hysteretic curve and skeleton-frame curves; the ductility property and stiffness degradation. Lastly, based the data got from the test, this paper analyses and value the seismic behavior of every members.
