BACnet—A Data Communication Protocol for Building Automation and Control Network is the current dominative technique with the development of Intelligent Building, and it has been the international standard in building automation and control. The protocol stipulates how to interoperate among the building equipments. As a technology-advanced, open completely protocol, which has been regarded as the standard by many standard societies, does not depend on the existing technology, LAN and WAN, for example, has perfect interconnection, and is authoritative widespreadly.The conservation of building energy becomes one of current hot issues of common concern. The energy management system is designed based on building energy conservation. Now one of the core problems in the building conservation field is how to transfer the information between the energy-efficient systems and the intelligent building system. The energy management system develops with the intelligent building and combines with the intelligent building especially with the building automation system.As the unified communications platform, BACnet protocol gives the standard definition of the interoperation language tool for different building equipment in all kinds of systems, so it makes the communication easier between different systems. Applied to energy management system, as the communication protocol in energy management system, BACnet can make all the system coordinate and construct an efficient, comfortable building environment.The primary point in this thesis is the BACnet implementation in the energy management system. This thesis introduces the system structure, net topology structure and the core feature of BACnet protocol, the study of BACnet standard and the present application of BACnet equipments. On this basis, this thesis analyzes the framework structure and working principle of the energy management system, given the overall project design of the system. Then construct the hardware platform of the service node and detecting control node. Directed towards energy management system, adopting the software design method of embedded operating system, with the procedures structure of service node and detected control node, this thesis analyzes the function of all the tasks and tasks demarcation, including the specific implementation based on C. Emphasis is put on the implementation of BACnet as the underlying communication protocol. In the end, the author elaborates on the communication problem and the methods how to resolve them and gives the BACnet unified testing of the encoding implementation in the energy management system.
