In the 21st century, all over the world, aerospace countries will focus their attention on Lunar Exploration. In the traditional way, remote measure and control from the mission control center on the earth can not satisfy the real-time and complex requirement of the explorer, because of some factors, such as the destination far away from the earth, the complexity and variety of the deep space mission, also the uncertain environment in the deep space. The Autonomous technology is a key approach which can resolve these problems. By the autonomous software system on-board, autonomous explorer can reduce even substitute the work of mission control center on the earth itself. However, the most important portion of the autonomous system is the autonomous planning and scheduling subsystem. This dissertation researches the description of the domain knowledge, mission planning algorithm, temporal sequence and resource scheduling algorithm, mission constraint satisfaction problem for the autonomous lunar explorer.First of all, modeling the operations on orbit and the resource is essential. The description of the operations is based on STRIPS function. Modeling the resource on-board is based on its characteristics by the Object Oriented (OO) technology. Then, it transform autonomous operation problem to the planning problem in the artificial intelligence.Secondly, for autonomous mission planning, this dissertation adopts the HTN (Hierarchical Task Network) method with the A* algorithm to plan the mission autonomously.Again, for the temporal and resource scheduling, this dissertation schedules the temporal sequence of operations by the Dynamic Critical Path algorithm; it can schedule the operation temporal and the resource as early as possible. Finally, based on the above three aspects, it has simulated the process of the continuous autonomous mission planning and scheduling when there are environment constraints in the deep space, then validates the method of explorer operate autonomously based on advanced mission...
