A Study On The Creation Of Urban Public Space Vitality Based On Environmental-Behavior

Recently in Chinese urbanization process, the creation of our urban public space influenced by former functional planning leads to the phenomenon that includes such as dispersed planning layout and unitary pattern of construction. In addition, the City Beautiful Movement in the past several years which is pursing formal beauty and effects of visual art, usually neglecting human's using, also leads to many huge scale streets and squares come out in many cities which people often don't like.However, city is born with people. The design of urban public space must pay more attention to people's routine life. In view of this, firstly the problems of recent urban public space construction are summarized. Then the paper presents the new interpretation of the conception of urban public space vitality based on the relationship between human's activities and urban public space construction. Furthermore, this paper analysis people's routine behavior characteristics, and discusses the approach of creation of"street vitality, square vitality, and park vitality"based on three different kinds of space including"street space, square space and park space". After that, the paper presents the principle on creation of urban public space and related approach. The researching conclusions of this paper as below:1.The new interpretation of the conception of urban public space vitality: Environmental facilities are not only meet human's physiological and psychological demands, but also could make more human's outdoor activities develop. In view of this, the site usage rate can be improved and the sense of place can be moulded. In addition, the environment will be full of attractive factors and positive social significance.2. The principle on creation of urban public space: principle of multivariate cross mixing, principle of human's public life, principle of participatory landcape design.3.
