Expansive soil is a special clay soil,possessing three features of swelling and shringkage,over-consolidation and fissures. Owing of the special character of the expansive soil,the moistening deformation of varying degrees is on show with the result of the pressure and water, causing a lot of projectal accidents.The moistening deformation is a additional deformation of increasing water content after it is steady under the pressure. The key to study on the moistening deformation is to work out the distribution of the water content, dry density and load.Realizes the deficiency of research currently,Based on the survey of a section of Xi'an-hanzhong freeway through expansive soil area,this paper studied on the relationship of the moistening character of expansive soil and the water content, dry density and load,and draw a conclusion as follow.The density of a certain kind of expansive soil, the greater the natural moisture content, humidifiers to saturation at the deformation of the smaller expansion. Dry soil samples greater density, water content lead to changes in the humidifier deformation greater expansion, humidifiers deformation of the stronger the water sensitivity. For a natural expansion of soil moisture content in soil samples, humidifiers deformation with the expansion of stem density increases with the increase, the expansion of low soil moisture content is particularly significant. The smaller the natural expansive soil moisture content, humidifiers deformation changes in the density of the sensitivity of the stronger. When compared hour load, load on the humidifier bound by the deformation of expansion (expansion degeneration reduce) the most notable, as the load increases, the humidifier expansion load deformation gradually weakened the role of restraint.Rebuilding expansive soil and the status quo with expansive soil humidification deformation of the same, but reshaping the earth expansion humidifiers deformation of soil significantly higher than the status quo.In practical engineering, soil compaction expansion should be adopted more stringent measures waterproof. The natural water content of certain territories to reinforce the expansion will lead to expansion of its humidification increased, the actual project is negative.
