| The marked characteristic of Chinese historic timber buildings is that the two members are joined together with rabbet. The research on the joints of rabbet has great significance to the lateral stability of timber frame and Seismic Performance of Chinese history timber structure.In the thesis, the study of rabbets in timber frame is focused, static analyses on rabbets is made, all kinds of destroying shapes that may occur are analyzed, and the corresponding formulas aiming at the types of failure are also made.The stress and strain in the head of beam and column are analyzed, which come from the Low-cyclic reversed loading tests which were conducted on eight wooden frame models, including three non-reinforced models, three models strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheet, and two models strengthened with flat steel. The results indicate that the moment in the head of beam is bigger than that of column. on the basis of non-linear return fit ,the empirical formula of the tested members' M—θcurve is fitted. The lateral rigidity of timber frame was studied , the relational expression of the horizontal load and displacement was obtained. |
