The ancient Chinese timber structure system is a unique structural ones, it's not only an important culture constituent for the China even for the world culture heritages, it's also has the artistic value, the historical value and the scientific value. The ancient Chinese palace was selected as a research object for the protecting and the strengthening. Base on the model test, the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, the semi-rigid joints square of the mortise-tenon joints and the tou-kung layers was deduced, which was the modular springs unit of the column roots, the mortise-tenon joints and the tou-kung layers. The response aseismic of the FEM was analysis. The vibration isolation was researched by the dynamic equation of the timber structure. At the same time, the seismic dynamic magnification factor of the every layer was obtained on the model of the ancient Chinese palace and the ancient Chinese hall form The Ying-tsao fa-shih, and a new way of the strengthen methods of the ancient Chinese timber structure was posed. By the research on the ancient Chinese timber structure, it was provided the theoretical foundation of protection, maintenance and reinforcement, as well as the technical reference of it. It also gives us the significant enlightenment to the aseismic research and design of the modern structure.In the paper, the birth and the development of the monolayer ancient Chinese timber structure was summarized, and the mechanics characteristic of the structural system and the structure character was analyzed. The aseismic capacity and the mechanics characteristic was study and analyzed by the relevant research and the Ying-tsao fa-shih. The results were indicated that the ancient Chinese timber structure has the better aseismic capacity than other ancient Chinese structure, which were incarnated on the vibration isolation of the base, the mortise-tenon joints and the tou-kung layers by the elastoplastic deferment, the sliding friction. The leading contents have been done as follows:The semi-rigid joints of the mortise-tenon joints and the tou-kung layers were assumed, and the value of the semi-rigid joints were confirmed by the vibrating table experiment and the relevant semi-rigid joints research, then the three-dimensional FEM of the test model was established by the SAP2000. The dynamical characteristics and the seismic response were analyzed, and the vibrating shapes and the aseismic capacity were discussed. After a soon, the vibration isolation capacity factor was obtained by the mechanics model and the dynamic equation the vibration isolation system of the test model through MATLAB. The results were indicated that the ancient Chinese timber structure has the better aseismic capacity and the vibration isolation capacity than other ancient Chinese structure.At the same time, the FEM of the model of the ancient Chinese palace which have seven tou-kong layers and the assistant columns have five ton-kong layers on the side face, and the ancient Chinese hall which have ten rafters which are take in hand by tree columns on the side face, which were form the front theoretic and the research and The Ying-tsao fa-shih , were established by the ANSYS soft ware. Then the dynamical characteristics and the seismic response were also analyzed. The results were indicated that the ancient Chinese timber structure also has the better aseismic capacity and the vibration isolation capacity than other ancient Chinese structure, which is not only the structure of the palace or the hall, the seismic dynamic magnification factor of the holistic structure is 0.445.Base on the results and the destruct character in the earthquake, a new way of strengthen the ancient timber structure is adopted by the three-dimensional loop deferred damper, and the strengthen method also gives us the significant enlightenment to the strengthen of the modern structure.
