With the development of distribution automation system and distribution management system, it is more and more important to apply state estimation for distribution system to practical situation. According to the actuality and challenges of distribution state estimation, the paper presents a new algorithm of status estimation based on load currents. The algorithm can deal with the measurements in effect, and it can simplify a lot of calculation because of no matrix calculating in power flow computation. The result from calculation examples and practical radial distribution networks shows the method presented significantly improves the accuracy and the rapid and reliable convergence. The main content of this paper is listed as follows:1.The actuality and challenges of distribution state estimation are analyzed.2. Three phase models of equipment are set up, as well as a simplified net model.3.The relationship model of primal data is defined The network topology information matrix is set up. Based on breadth-first search, the branch serial number are formed.4. The back/forward sweep of three-phrase load flow is studied, and three-phrase load flow software is developed.5.This paper presents a state estimation algorithm for distribution network based on load currents, and the state estimation software is programmed. The project test is carried out and the result shows that this method is reliable, efficient.6.The software of state estimation algorithm based on three phase power flow for distribution network is developed in a practical distribution system.
