Based on a comprehensive review of the characteristics and development trend of solar energy utilization and introduction to categories, principle, advantages and disadvantages, and development trend of solar cell. First, this paper study the output characteristic of solar cell, establishes relationship between output current, output voltage, external resistor and output power by experiment, supply a new method for measure the efficiency of solar cell (measure output power under different illumination, make out the cure between output power and illumination, which is linear. The slope is the efficiency of solar cell, therefore, there is not relationship between the efficiency of solar cell and illumination.) Then, this paper analyzes the effect of temperature (at room temperature 20°C~45℃) by experiment, find the relationship between short-circuit current, open circuit voltage, output power, fill factor and temperature, supply a reference to the practice use of solar cell. At last, establishes heat transfer model of solar cell by deduction, one-dimensional model, three-dimensional model with the specific border conditions, it can know the distribution of temperature in the solar cell, this is even more clear understanding of solar energy conversions.
