Research Of Application In Reinforcedearth Retaining Wall Of High Embankment

The paper introduces the technology feature and application of reinforced earth, meanwhile analyzes the design theories and calculation methods of reinforced earth retaining wall. On the base of the practice in designing and constructing the reinforced earth retaining walls of high embankment in second-grade highway from Fengshan to Bama, Guangxi, the paper does some researches, the results can use for reference in high embankment protection in highway of Guangxi. Those researches can be described as follows.Firstly, introduces friction theory and pseudo cohesion concept theory—the principles of soil to bar strip in the reinforced earth structure. Friction theory believes the interaction of soil and bar strip stabilizes the earth. And pseudo cohesion concept theory believes that adding bar strip material can improve the strength of the earth hence stabilizes the earth.Secondly, through contrasting to inextensible reinforcement, analyzes the interaction between extensible reinforcement and soil. The conclusion is adding extensible reinforcement makes reinforced earth structure softer then ensures it can be used in the transformation of some project.Thirdly, analyzes the inner stability and outer stability of high embankment reinforced earth retaining walls in second-grade highway from Fengshan to Bama, Guangxi.Fourthly, analyzes the measure values during constructing, the conclusion is the high embankment reinforced earth retaining wall's designation and construction satisfies the requirement, but the designing methods is conservative and the safety factors is too large, it makes the cost more expensive.Fifthly, basing on the experience of constructing the reinforced earth retaining walls summarizes the construction method and regulation of reinforced earth retaining wall, point out the key process which can be a reference in designing, budgeting and tender of reinforced earth retaining wall.
