Pavement equipment is a kind of military engineering equipment mostly used to ensure the operational equipment to pass muddy roads. The mat is the main supporting component of pavement equipment. Showing from the developing tendency of pavement equipment: the main material of the mat is altered from steel to aluminum alloy and composite material.There are three pivotal items during designing the aluminum alloy mat structure. The first is choosing the serial of aluminum alloy material. There are many sorts of aluminum alloy materials and each has different mechanical property and technologic property. We must filtrate the aluminum alloy material carefully when it is used to the military mat. Secondly, confirming structural type and corresponding structural manufacturing process. When we are designing the mat structure, we should think about the operational environment of the military mat and corresponding structural technologic feasibility. Thirdly, accuracy of the computation means. Computation results should provide guidance to the structural design, it is very important to select a rational soil model for the computation of the mat structure.This article researches that how aluminum alloy materials are applied in the military mat. The research method is that from design to computation and then validating it by experimentation. Firstly, the article researched the sort and characteristic of aluminum alloy materials detailedly and ensured the material which is befitting for the design of military mat through it's technologic characteristic of molding. At the same time, the structural design of aluminum alloy mat is accomplished according to the supporting request of conventional military loads. Secondly, the article accomplished the structural response analysis of the designed structure which is pressed by the military loads through the method of finite element and solved the computation difficulty of the mat structure that is how to found the mechanics model of the soft groundwork through the method which is the mix of experimentation and academic analysis. It is sure that the Duncan-Chang soil model is befitting for the computation of the military mat structure. Lastly, the article validated the mat structure through an experimentation which the mat is pressed by actual loads and verified the accuracy of computation means about the mat structure through the response test of stress.
