It is quite necessary to analyze dynamic-stiffness coefficients of circular foundations for theory and engineering.General solutions of the wave equations are deduced by introducing wave potentials and the exact and symmetric dynamic-stiffness matrix of a layered soil and half-space can be derived. All parameters have explicitly physical meaning and the thickness of sub-layers has no influence on the calculation precision, which is very convenient to engineering application. Based on these matrices, Green's functions are derived for distributed loads acting on annular rings, and based on Green's functions, the dynamic-stiffness coefficients of circular footings can be obtained. The dynamic-stiffness coefficients of circular foundations on half-space, single layer on half-space, increasing stiffness and single soft layer are systematically calculated and researched. The dynamic-stiffness coefficients of circular foundations under different damping ratios, stiffness of layered soil and Poisson's ratio are discussed.
