The reinforced concrete is widely used in the civil engineering. There is a great deal of reinforcing bar connection problems in the construction of concrete. There are three kinds of reinforcing bars connection: splice, jointing and machined connection. The splice of reinforcing bar is easily operated and used widely. This paper mainly discusses the splice problems of reinforcing bar in the simply supported reinforced concrete beams. The non-contact splice of reinforcing bars means that there is a small distance between the splicing reinforcing bars, and the concrete can bind the reinforcing bar completely. So the theory of non-contact splice is better than that of contact splice. But the research of this aspect is limited now, so it is necessary to work over the non-contact of reinforcing bar .The main contents in this paper is as follow:1. Focus on the situation, the test of a group of simply supported reinforced concrete beams was processed.2. On the basis of the test data, we have obtained the strain diagrams of the steel bar in the splicing length. According to the analysis of these diagrams, more conclusions for the average bond stress in the splicing length were obtained.3. On the basis of the test data, we have obtained the concrete strain diagrams of the edge of the compression zone in the midspan sections. According to the analysis of these diagrams, correlative conclusions for the test-beams were obtained.4. On the basis of the test data, we have obtained the diagrams of the height of the compression zone in the midspan sections. According to the analysis of these diagrams, correlative conclusions for the test-beams were obtained.5. On the basis of the test data, we have obtained the diagrams of the midspan deflections of the test-beams. According to the analysis of these diagrams, correlative conclusions for the test-beams were obtained.6. On the basis of the test data, we have obtained the deflections diagrams of the quarter-span of the test-beams. According to the analysis of these diagrams, correlative conclusions for the test-beams were obtained.Through researches about the test-beams, this paper draws the following conclusion: the non-contact splice of reinforcing bar is effective and feasible.
