The power transformer is one of the most important electrical equipments in power system, whether dose it run safely and stably will affect the power reliable supply and system normal operation. So a fixed-time or real-time on-line monitoring of the running state of the transformer is very important, it can be avoiding the problems of electric equipments earlier insulation defects, Preventing sudden accidents, reducing the unnecessary electricity-cutting maintenance, and avoiding great loss caused by the"over maintenance" in traditional tests, it extent the using time of the equipments efficiently and make equipments maintenance reach a perfect state.On-line monitoring of transformers with different built-in sensors directly in the transformer, where possible, this should carry as much information as possible on the state of the transformer at a particular moment Then we can make a proper diagnosis with this information, and take measures to prevent serious faults happening.With the development of gas-chromatographic diagnostic techniques, the sensor techniques and fault diagnostic techniques, on-line monitoring of transformer oil dissolved gases has developed rapidly. This paper analyzes the present research situation about the on-line monitoring of transfromer, and also discusses deeply the on-line monitoring techniques about gases dissolved in transformer oil and the transformer internal temperature. Fiber optic thermometer and the transformer oil chromatogram analysis technologies have been studied, and also this paper states the advantages of measuring temperature by semi-conductor of the fiber-optic sensor, dynamic headspace degas technology and photoacoustic spectroscopy. With LabVIEW and SQL Server 2005 this paper explores the software platform and data-base of the power transformer on-line monitoring system, so a practical transformer on-line monitoring system is constructed, and it is brought into practice in the SFSZ10-180000/220 transformer project in ZiBo HeZhuang in which proves the effect of this new monitoring system is very good.
