With the development of national economy and the improvement of the people's living standards, high-rise and super-high-rise buildings has become very popular in Chinese cities. The development of cities booms the demand for high speed elevators whose speed exceeds 5 m/s. Therefore, the research and development of high speed elevator is gaining more and more significance. This thesis uses CFD numerical simulation to simulate and optimize the high speed elevator developed by a company whose loading capacity is 1000kg and speed is 6m/s. This thesis mainly includes following content: finding the aerodynamic defect of the elevator car through simulation; putting forward optimization schemes, verifying and comparing their effects; simulating the operation of the elevator under different working conditions so as to provide a theory basis to the design of high speed elevator.By simulating the prototype of elevator car, serious flaws are found with its aerodynamic characteristics. It causes great running resistance, vibration, noise pollution and so on. It is also found that the problem can be solved effectively by fixing a flow-guiding cover respectively on the top and bottom of the high speed elevator car. This thesis puts forward 9 different designs flow-guiding cover. After analyzing and comparing 9 different optimization schemes, it is found that running resistance, vibration and noise can be effectively reduced by fixing a 1.0-meter high elliptical flow-guiding cover on the top and bottom of the elevator car. Such arrangements will make the high speed elevator become safer, more economical and comfortable to ride.By simulating the operation of the elevator under different working conditions, we can obtain operation parameters such as running resistance and consumed powers as well as their changing patterns. We are able to observe how the operation parameters change with the change of the air-vent area of the elevator silo. In a word, this thesis provides references and rational suggestions to the design of high speed elevators.
