Currently, the influence of dewatering of foundation pit on important surrounding buildings is a hot issue in foundation pit engineering, so the influence in the engineering dewatering of Sofia Underground Trade Estate on Sofia Church has been paid much attention. Therefore, the study is significant for the direction of engineering.The rule of the influence of dewatering of foundation pit nearby on the settlement of Sofia Church foundation has been studied by the combined method of numerical calculation and the engineering investigation. The main researching contents: Firstly, building a 3-D model, it is proved reliable according to comparison between computing results and the data of actual measurement. Secondly, the coupling calculating model of seepage and stress is applied to gain and analyze the change laws of such parameters as water level of inside and outside of foundation pit and settlement under different conditions of space between wells, the depth of well, the drainage quantity of a signal well, the depth of waterproof wall in the process of dewatering and mechanism. Thirdly, the corresponding control measures are achieved from the computing results such as the change rule of water level and settlement in Sofia Church foundation soil in the process of dewatering for Sofia Underground Trade Estate foundation pit.The principal results indicate that large drawdown and settlement around the foundation pit occur with the decreasing of the distance between well point and Sofia Church corner point, the increasing of the depth of the wells, the increasing of drainage quantity of a signal well and the increasing of permeability coefficient. However, small drawdown and settlement appear with the increasing of the depth of waterproof wall. Therefore, setting injected wells and waterproof wall is effective technical measures for reducing settlement. As for the engineering of Sofia Underground Trade Estate, the dewatering measure is suggested that the following aspects should be considered, for instance, reasonable drainage quantity of a signal well, depth of wells, well setting, depth of waterproof wall, plan of injected wells when the settlement of Sofia Church foundation is 0.004m, thus, ensuring the Sofia Church upside structure in good condition in the process of dewatering.
