The pseudo-dynamic test(referred to as the on-line computer controlled test) which is the most comprehensive used one of the seismic tests is an experimental technique for simulating the seismic response of structures and the structural components .With advantage of static cyclic testing and shaking table testing ,the pseudo-dynamic test used loading test technology and computer technology together. Not only did it overcame shaking table testing of the surface size and pedestal bearing capacity constraint, but it also avoided the need for computer simulation that assume the characteristics of resilience, which may reproduce slowly the entire process of reaction of structural seismic from elastic to collapse.The pseudo-dynamic test of the latest trends is to improve numerical integration algorithm and test controlled techniques. In order to improve the test controlled results, this paper is to improve mainly from the perspective of numerical integration algorithm for the pseudo-dynamic test, so high order single step method is introduced. The existing pseudo-dynamic test widely used center difference method, PCM-Newmark method andαmethod (implicit) and made good test results. As high order single step method is unconditionally stable, non-beyond; whenβ= 0.5, the algorithm has four order accuracy ( ( )) (displacement, velocity, acceleration having the same order accuracy) without algorithm damping. Comparing high order single step method with the existing other commonly used algorithm, we can know that the conspicuous advantages of the algorithm is high speed, high precision, good stability and so on. This paper will use high order single step method to pseudo-dynamic test and sub-structure test and do numerical simulation. The following aspects of the research were studied in this paper:(1) Based on bilinear restoring force model, doing SDOF and two-DOF pseudo-dynamic numerical simulation test with high order single step method .(2) Based on the bilinear restoring force model, doing SDOF and two-DOF pseudo-dynamic numerical simulation test with central difference method.(3) Based on the bilinear restoring force model, doing pseudo-dynamic sub-structure numerical simulation test with high order single step method.According to numerical simulation analysis of the example, it is proved that high order single step method as a high precision, unconditional stability of the controlling algorithm to be used in pseudo-dynamic testing is extremely feasible. It was chose for pseudo-dynamic testing as an effective algorithm.
