At present, More and more researcher pay attention on dye sensitized solar cell(DSSC). In this paper, the rencent research of dye sensitized solar cell is reviewed, and a study about photo electrode is carried out. Through linear sweep, UV-vis spectrometer and microsope, a analysis to the photo-to-current performance of solar cell, UV-vis absorption spectrum and surface appearance is gained.The influence of adding mass of OP-7 and Hydroxyethyl cellulose on the performance of solar cell is observed, then confirm the dosage of OP-7 and Hydroxyethyl cellulose. Adding five oxide into TiO2 slurry, the five oxide are SiO2; ZnO; Ga2O3; Al2O3 and CeO2, it show that adding right mass of oxide could be improve photo-to-current conversion efficiency, especially, the slurry used in assembling DSSC which added by 10mass%~30mass% ZnO is better than slurry doped by other oxide at improving photo-to-current conversion efficiency.The adding oxide is ZnO, and through adding various acid, confecting ZnO-TiO2 slurry with different content of ZnO, then immerge in various dye to make photo electrode that used to assemble solar cell, the results indicate that: (1) The best acid and dye is HNO3 and Phthalocyanine green respectively; (2) ZnO layer as a block layer could suppress electron recombination, the function of acid could be observed by working with ZnO together; (3) The best photo-to-current conver-sion efficiency is gained, and the open-circuit voltage is 685mV, the short-circuit current is 0.183mA, the fill factor is 0.455.The results of UV-vis absorption spectrum indicate that the UV-vis absorption spectrum with added oxide power used in slurry move to shortwave, so the band gap(Eg) is increased, leading to the open-circuit voltage increased; the absorption spectrum is not so much difference between Phthalocyanine blue and Phthalo-cyanine green, there have three strong absorption spectrum at the range of 190nm ~900 nm with natural dye.The results by microsope show that only adding ZnO could not improve the surface of pure TiO2 photo electrode, and adding HNO3 lonely make surface appearance of pure TiO2 photo electrode worse, the good influence by HNO3 on the surface of TiO2 films is achieved through working with ZnO. moreover, the adding mass of ZnO must be appropriate, otherwise, the overmuch mass of ZnO could have a bad influence on the surface of films.A experiment indicate that in the proess of mixed HNO3; ZnO; TiO2 and distilled water, the matter called Zn(NO3)2 is gained, but still a few mass of ZnO is remained, and the role of ZnO layer as a block layer and the improvement surface of photo electrode with Zn(NO3)2 could enhance the performance of dye sensitized solar cell.
