Concrete filled steel tube frame is a new kind of structures, because of its excellent seismic behavior, high strength, great economic benefits and other advantages, more and more high-rise and wide-span buildings apply Concrete filled Rectangular Steel Tube (CFRST) as the vertical bearing members in recent years; when CFRST is applied in frame structures as beams, it can display nice behavior such as: effectively debasing story height, augmenting span , better economic benefits , architecture effect and so on.In order to research the seismic behavior and economic behavior of CFRST frame, extend this structures to make it be applied to practice projects. The text carries out experimental and theory research on the CFRST frame with infill wall. Based on the seismic experimental research on two pieces of one bay, two stories models of CFRST frames with infill wall, the bearing capacity, ductility, energy dissipation and collapse mechanism are researched and analyzed, its seismic behavior is assessed sequentially; the theoretical analysis of the CFRST frame with infill wall was carried out. The result fits well with the test, and the validity of the theoretical analysis was verified; through a comparison of CFRST frame with that of the frame with infill wall, the mechanical behavior is different; calculating and comparing economics between system of steel residential structure and system of CFRST residential structure using software PKPM of China Academy of Building Research; comprehensive assessment of the CFRST frame with infill wall was carried out from the economy aspect and the seismic aspect.The results show that CFRST frame has plumper shuttle shape hysteretic curves, excellent energy dissipation ,and enough later loading capacity ,also the frame can forms the beam hinged collapse mechanism, so the frame has wonderful superiority on seismic behavior, compared with reinforced concrete and steel frames the CFRST frames have the advantages of higher bearing capacity and better economic benefits. So we can conclude that the CFRST frame has wonderful superiority on bearing capability, seismic behavior and effective use of material; it is deserved researching thoroughly and extending to practice projects.
