Launching ability of U-core single-phase self-starting permanent synchronous motor is a difficult question which people are always concerned with. Stator's special structure is different with round stator. Since it's self-starting ability main rely on the motor's asymmetrical gap between stator and rotor. For usual single phase motor, capacitance or inductance must be connected so as to form rotating magnetic field. Cage winding are distributed around the permanent magnet. This subject is just based on it, analyze the structure and principle of U-core single-phase motor. Passive magnetic bearing are used on shaft extension. U-core single phase motor and magnetic suspension technology is applied on artificial heart and explored the feasibility.Since the motor's self-starting ability is associated tightly with asymmetrical gap structure. There is a starting torque at the time when the motor is inleted current and the starting torque has something to do with the fixing torque. This subject proceeds detailed analysis on fixing position of different symmetrical structure. Firstly, illuminate that the motor can't launch itself on uniform air-gap. Secondly declare that there are two different asymmetrical structure: different stator's inside radius and flute on stator . Alternating current supply or variable-frequency power sources may be used. In addition, Calculate the rotor's initial phase angle, And give the formula of initial phase angle. Using Matlab analyze motor's starting performance, such as initial current, starting torque etc. The research establishes a base for the analysis and optional design in further study of the Single-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor.Passive magnetic bearing is used in mechanical bearing system. So in this paper, concentrate on passive magnetic bearing which is composed of three magnetic ring with one chapter, including axial direction magnetization radial-force bearing and axial magnetization axial repulsive force bearing. Analyze radial force and axial force of passive magnetic bearing with finite element method and plot force curve. At last manufacture model machine of U-core motor. Because the stator's winding is artificial wrapping, after proceeding motor's operating experiment , measure the starting current. The insult indicates that the pattern of model machine is similar with the emulation.
