| International Maritime Organization (IMO) has not established uniform stability crireion for professional animal carriers due to the fact that the number of these carriers is too small in the world. Austrilian has a great number of livestock carriers, but its stability criterion are not internationally accepted.We are of the opinion that the Austrilia's professional livestock carrier stability crireion are insufficient in following points:â—†Smaller initial stability;â—†Lack consideration of danymic stability of the livestock carrier in the situation of heavy weather;â—†The affect to stability by the of angle of heel caused by livestock and feed movement in the course of transportaion; andâ—†The necessary comfort required by the animals on board.With a view to further enhance the safety of the transportation of livestock by sea, researches have been made in this thesis with following achievements:â—†The types of animals transport carriers and some particular setting in the animals transport carriers have, based on the situation of animals transport by sea in the all the world, been introduced;â—†Not only livestock carrier deadwight has been determined but also the conception of animal stowage density has been introduced. According to animal stowage density table, we will determine the number of animals to load on the ship quikly and easily;â—†IMO stability criterion, Austrilia livestock carrier stability ctiterion and our country stability criterion have been studied to get the stability criterion advice of livestock carriers; â—†In accordance with the stability criterion advice, a series of calculate process has been introduced detailedly;â—†Livestock carrier "MV. Kalymnian Express" has been taken as an example. It is correct to reinforce Austrilia livestock carrier stability criterion comparing with the criterion advice. |
