| ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects) Awards is one of the top awards in the world landscape architecture circle. This thesis studies the development of the Awards and its influence over the American landscape architecture circle.The Awards'detail picture on several parts is introduced - the origin, development, the jury and different categories of the Awards. It emphasizes on the trends in the Awards'criteria. Then the Awards'positive influences are summarized, on the other hand, the thesis also mentions the Awards'backwards.In reference of the performance of Chinese landscape architects in landscape contests both home and abroad and the status quo of our domestic landscape awarding system, the thesis discusses the problems in the awarding system in China and suggest that we should learn from these contests to improve the landscape architecture awarding system in China, in order to promoting the Chinese landscape development in the 21st century. |
