With the environmental problems in the world become more and more serious, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), as a key technology of Green Manufacturing, has been increasingly paid attention to. However, LCA is limited in decision-making for it is just an assessment tool for environmental performance. As we all known, it's not sufficient to make final decision only depending on environmental assessment results for the profit-directed organizations, because economic performance is also an important aspect that can't be ignored. So integrating economic analysis tool to LCA, and optimizing the environmental and economic benefits are one of the key methods to solve above problem. This paper will research on the integration and optimization of Life Cycle Assessment and Life Cycle Costing (LCC).Firstly, current researches on integration of LCA and LCC are summaried, and the technology frame and methodology of LCA and LCC are introduced separately. Based on analysis of the difficulties of the two assessment tools within integration, the integrated frame is proposed, and the key techonogies are also studied.(1) The product system modeling based on Unified Model Language (UML) is researched. (2) The integrated algorithm for inventory analysis based on timing matrix is proposed. (3) The integration of impact assessment is studied, and the four-layer impact assessment index system based on Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is set up. (4) The integrated assessment model for process planning in manufacturing process is built.Secondly, several mathematic models are set up for environmental and economic benefits optimization based on integration. The Concurrent Subspace Optimization (CSSO), one of the Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) algorithms, is used to maximize the environmental and economic benefits. In addition, environmental and economic mathematic models are also built to optimize the route of process planning in manufacturing process. The case study to the connecting rod of 4135G diesel engine is given to validate the rationality and feasibility of the models, which is carried out by Genetic Algorithm (GA) in Matlab software. Finally, prototype system LCA&LCC1.0 is designed and developed. The architecture degign, function design and key technologies of the system are introduced. As an example of the 4135G diesel engine, the integrated evaluation and optimization results are revealed by LCA&LCC 1.0. The rationality and feasibility of this system and the methodology proposed by this paper are validated.
