With the rapid development of our society and economy, the load of low voltage power distribution system is increasing sharply. The power distribution transformer is frequently over loaded as the prearranged overload capacity of distribution transformer is relatively small. Meanwhile, most of the distribution transformer protection oriented devices are of single function, and poorly automated. Therefore, we are planning to design a new kind of highly integrated intellectual power distribution transformer protector in order to solve the problems mentioned above and provide insurance for the economic development of rural areas.First of all, a brief introduction of power distribution system is given, including the problems that we are in face with. The necessity and urgency of a new kind of integrated intellectual protector is emphasized, and functions and parameters of the new protector are discussed too.Secondly, the overall plan of the new protection system mentioned above is introduced briefly, which is composed of two sub systems, the locale protector and the remote control system. The locale protector is mainly in charge of sampling, conversion and displaying of the real time electric parameters of the power distribution transformer, and it is also expected to distinguish action conditions and send relative short messages to a mobile phone or the remote control system. The remote control system is designed to manage all of the locale protectors, including information registration and remote control affairs.In the following parts, the integrated intelligent protection system is introduced in details in both hardware and software aspects. The hardware of the new protection system is divided into four parts, such as the power supply system, the main chip MCU system, the assistant MCU system and the remote control system, while the software of it is divided into three parts, such as the main chip MCU, the assistant MCU and the remote control system installed on the personal computer in the remote control center.After that, error analysis of the new protection system is presented based on series of experimental data, and it is easy to reach the conclusion that the new protection system can live up to the original expectation and is capable of providing the power distribution transformer with enough protection and security.In addition, a brief summary and further improvement is presented at the end of the paper.
