When a warship is in the course of wartime, it is usually encounters attack from anti-ship weapons. This can result in the damage of the hull structure. The deformation will occur when the damage is mild. Reversely, when the damage is serious the crack will happen. Compared to the submarine, the surface ship is more easily becomes the target of an attack. Consequently, the enhancement of its anti-damage capability is an effective approach to improve a warship's warfare capability. As we all known that, the breakage of the detonator is different when blast in water or in the air. The shock wave will occur when the detonator blasts in water. The acting time of the shock wave is short but the pressure is huge, so it can usually make the warship have a severely deformation or even damage. So the study of the warship shock wave response has a significant meaning to the improvement of the warship anti-damage capability. This paper is in the background of such conditions, make the numerical simulation calculation to a warship by the finite element software ABAQUS. The calculation result is well when comparing with some relevant experiment data.Firstly, this paper has a research on phenomenon of the underwater explosion and then comprehend the physical characteristic of underwater shock wave. At the basic of this, used the empirical formulas and calculated the pressure loads from underwater blast by programming, calculated the shock wave loads data of a warship by numerical simulation.Secondly, studied and have a good command of the underwater blasting technology by analyzing the shock wave loads of a volume shell in the condition of underwater blast, analyzed the response of the following two conditions: shell with full water or an empty one. The results indicate that the injected water enhanced the underwater response of the volume. Finally, according to the relevant drawings of a warship, made the geometry model and meshed it by ANSYS and HYPERMESH, calculated the natural frequency by ABAQUS. This validate that the finite element model can simulate the characteristic of a real warship such as quality and stiffness well. At last made the numerical analysis to the warship and the results quite quadjacence with the experiment.
