Scheduling generation and transmission maintenance is of importance in power system operation. However, traditional approaches do not take fully into account the coordinating of generation and transmission maintenance, and the affection that the maintenance scheduling has to the security and generation scheduling of power system. Consequently, the obtained maintenance scheduling is often infeasible and being an obstacle to security and economic operation of power system. Integrated generation and transmission maintenance scheduling is the key to solve the above problem. Considering the features of the generating units' types and the framework of the Sichuan province power grid, the thesis researches the model and optimal algorithm of the integrated generation and transmission maintenance scheduling problem. The major work is followed as:Firstly, a model of the generation and transmission maintenance scheduling problem is established. The objective is to minimize total production costs. The constraint set consists of maintenance constraints of generating units and tie lines, power and energy balance constraints, tie lines capacity limits of generating stations and regions, and so on. The model reflects the coordinating of maintenances between generating units and key transmission lines, and the maintenance affection to generation scheduling. Thus, the proposed model is more practical.Secondly, an efficient genetic algorithm is presented to solve the integrated generation and transmission maintenance scheduling problem. Chromosome code, crossover and mutation operations are developed simultaneously. Where, several data matrices, which represent individual' gene information of maintenance and power constraints, etc, are designed to improve the efficiency of constraints inquiry and fitness evaluation. A heuristic method is proposed to schedule generation, which is based on the sorting of energy consuming coefficient of units and the balance of power and energy, so that the generation plan can be solved fast with minimum energy consuming.Thirdly, based on the data of the generation and transmission maintenance scheduling of Sichuan province power grid, digital simulation is tested and the results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed model and algorithm.
