With the policy of reform and opening in our country, our national economy develops in a striking speed, however, along with it are ascending fire accidents year by year. The frequent fire accidents have severely influenced the smooth development of national economy. As an effective fire-protection measure of controlling fire at the initial stage of fie, the automatic sprinkler system, especially the wet automatic sprinkler system which accounts for 70% of automatic sprinkler system, attracts more and more attention all around.In our country, however, the pipe network of automatic sprinkler system adopts all along the dendriform pipe network layout, which possess very low security and reliability. Thus, this paper analyzed the pipe network layout theory of wet automatic sprinkler system, and put forward to different layout types of circular pipe network, such as the circular layout of water delivery branch, circular layout of distribution trunk, circular layout of standpipe, circular layout of branch pipe and trunk pipe, circular layout of standpipe and trunk pipe, and circular layout of standpipe, branch pipe and trunk pipe.Based on the circular layout theory of wet automatic sprinkler system and current standards, this paper adopted Graph Theory Method to create a mathematical model for numerical calculation which is applied to both the dendriform pipe network and loop pip network, and made use of MATLAB software to compile relevant calculation program. Pipe flux was originally distributed by use of least square method in the software other than manual distribution. This program needs less known conditions' input. It runs fast, and its accuracy of calculation is high.Hydraulic calculations were carried out using the program for a dendriform pipe network and three circular pipe networks in different or the same diameters on the circles, which were formed based on the dendriform pipe network, keeping the disposal of the heads. According to the calculation results, circular pipe network could improve the hydraulic conditions, reduce the designed flux and water head loss, and debase the lift of fire protection water pump of wet automatic sprinkler systems. When designing wet automatic sprinkler system, the circular pipe network disposal form should be determined by different construction layouts and different fire protection grades, etc. The program was practically applied in an engineering example.Finally, this paper studied the application of automatic sprinkler technology in residence. It introduced the development of automatic sprinkler technology standards in foreign residence, the selection and layout of residence fire sprinkler and its basic application forms, and discussed the design parameter as well. Through the cost-performance analysis of automatic sprinkler system in residence, a conclusion is drawn that the installation of automatic sprinkler system in residence possesses great benefit of disaster reduction and social benefit.
