| Wind turbine is undergoing a rapid and continual development all over the world. The development trend of the wind turbine technology can be represented by the increase of power, longer blades, higher towers, the progress of control system and the development of marine power generation. With the increasing of the power for a wind turbine, the heat which is produced by the various parts of the generator is also increasing greatly. Effective cooling measures should be introduced for keeping the regenerator system operating within the allowable temperature. Cooling technology has become one of the crucial issues for the further development of the wind turbine. Most of the domestic wind turbine technology researches concentrate on frequency control technique, control system and machine design, few articles about cooling technology is found in public literatures. The existing ones are published long time ago and are far behind the fast development of wind turbine technology. In this paper, the working theory and structure of the wind power generation are introduced. The parts and producing mechanism of the heat are analyzed. And the cooling methods using in present wind power generators are also introduced. The design procedure and optimum scheme of water cooling system of the MW wind turbine are proposed. On this basis, some possible cooling ways for the next generation high-power wind turbine is presented. Three wind turbine systems with new cooling technology are introduced. |
