Digital design played an important role for enhancing the informatization and automation level of designing and manufacturing, shortening the development cycle of product, ensuring the quality of product, raising the management of manufacturing , reducing costs and enhancing the market competitiveness of product and innovation of enterprises.According to the experience of the author of in the lead-acid battery industry, preliminary research using digital design method for lead-acid battery was conducted, lead-acid battery product design process was comprehensively analysed, a digital design system framework for lead-acid battery was established; using VB. Net as the integrated development tools, Solidworks2007 as the three-dimensional modeling platform , the research of battery grid Parametric Modeling was conducted; plastic injection simulation of lead-acid battery cover using Moldflow software was analysed, the main research results are as follows:1. According to the design demands of lead-acid battery grid , structural parameters of grid was computed or checked by using a VB compiled program, combination of computing of the battery active material and grid design was considered.2. Three-dimensional parametric modeling of grid and plate was conducted by using Solidworks platform, convenience was provided for the evaluation of the grid.3. According to the results of the three-dimensional modeling of the grid and the plate, the design of the grid was evaluated with a VB compiled program, the design results can quickly to be confirmed.4. Material chosen, runner optimization, cooling optimization and plastic injection process was conducted by using Moldflow software, an effective guidance can be provided for the manufacturing of injection mold and injection processing of the product.This article can be the reference for promoting new technology such as modern design technology and computer technology to improve the quality, reduce the costs, shorten the development cycle in the lead-acid battery industry.
