Large Oil Tanker (VLCC) Structure Design Based On CSR

In recent years, drived by some international ship owner's organization, common structural rules for bulk carrier and double hull oil tanker are developed by IACS. Ship safety and environment protection are both improved and the application of CSR bring great effect on structure design of the ship. The dissertation set a example of a new very large cargo oil carrier (VLCC) based on CSR and following investigation to be carried out:1) Investigation of CSR rules calculation according to a VLCC;2) Direct strength calculation of hull(3 cargo holds);3) Fatigue calculation based on NAUTICUS HULL software of DNV.;4) According this ship analyse the effect of CSR to steel weight that many shipyards give more attentions, then provide consideration of steel increment when design a new VLCC.
