The wind-assisted ship can achieve the purpose of ship energy conservation and emissions reduction,however,the thrust generated by the wind wing has a certain impact on the hull structure,which affects the navigation safety of the ship.Therefore,it is of great significance to analyze the strength of the main components of the wind-assisted ship.In this paper,the wind-assisted VLCC is taken as the research object,the load of wind-assisted VLCC under full load is analyzed and calculated,and a method to check the strength of VLCC hull structure is proposed.The stress and deformation results of the main components of wind-assisted VLCC are obtained,which can provide theoretical guidance for the strength check of new VLCC ships and the maintenance and strengthening inspection of the main components of VLCC ship during operation.First,by analyzing the wind resource distribution characteristics of the object on the scheduled route,the extreme wind speed and the probability of wind direction and wind speed in the wind field were calculated by using the gumbel curve method,and the maximum relative wind speed of VLCC was obtained.According to the basic parameters of the wind wing and the simplified mechanical model of the wind wing,the maximum moment load of the wind wing is calculated to be 16390.24 kN·m,and the gravity of a single wind wing is 296.41 kN.Secondly,the ship' Particulars of target VLCC are given.According to the "rules for the classification of sea-going steel ships" and the "guidelines for direct calculation and analysis of tanker structures" issued by China classification society,the geometric model of VLCC cabin is established by using ANSYS,and the finite element model of VLCC cabin is obtained by grid division and material parameter assignment of the geometric model.According to the guide for direct calculation and analysis of tanker structure,boundary conditions and working conditions are determined and loads are calculated.Finally,the stress and deformation results of the seven main components are obtained by applying load with ANSYS.Among them,when the VLCC is fully loaded after installing the wind wing,the member with the maximum stress is the deck plate,the maximum value is 187.9 MPa,the allowable value is 220 MPa,and the calculated value/allowable value is 85.41%.And the maximum stress and maximum deformation of the deck plate at the connection between the wind wing base and the deck were generated at No.3 wind wing,with the maximum stress of 6.27 MPa and the maximum deformation of 1.132 mm,deck plate is the weak part of target VLCC hull in stress and deformation,in the actual construction process,the stress concentration should be partially strengthened,and during the operation,the stress concentration should be inspected to ensure the safety of the ship.The research in this paper has certain reference value,and it is of certain guiding significance to check the hull strength of wind-assisted ship.
